Who Are We?
So glad you asked! We’re Bible Students who have gathered in congregations worldwide since the early days of the Watchtower. We still study and share the original Watchtower writings and literature, which we find valuable for understanding and aligning with the Bible’s teachings.
The Purpose of This Site
This website was started in hopes of connecting with both current and former Jehovah’s Witnesses in the spirit of Christian love and friendship. A place for fellowship, support, encouragement and open discussions.
We want to share with you the long, cherished spiritual truth that was so bright in the early days of the Watchtower movement. In a spirit of Christian love and freedom, we invite you to study with fellow Bible students, not under a controlling ORGANIZATION led by a “Governing Body,” but in the spirit of the Bereans (Acts 17:11).
We aim to support, encourage and uplift current Jehovah’s Witnesses who are looking past today’s Watchtower, as well as former JWs after they leave the organization. Our goal is to help those who are questioning and or facing challenges in their relationship with the JW Organization, especially those who have experienced spiritual and emotional pain.
We wish to discuss our shared roots and the true history and original mission of the early Watchtower Society. Initially, it functioned as a publishing house that had no authority over the many independent congregations, which were managed solely by their members, not by strict elders or a controlling Governing Body. Back then, each elder could only stay in their role if they received 75% of the votes from the Spirit-anointed congregation members during annual elections, based on Biblical qualifications for elders (1 Tim 3 and Titus 1).
In the early days of the Watchtower, many original Bible Students did not accept the new teachings that were introduced. They resisted being controlled by Joseph Rutherford, the new and strict leader, and wanted to keep their Christian freedom. As a result, these Bible Students separated from the emerging Jehovah’s Witness organization and either continued or reformed their own congregations around the world. By 1931, 75% of the original Bible Students had left this new organization, which then took the name “Jehovah’s Witnesses” to clearly distinguish between those who stayed and those who left.
The Bible Students continue to meet today as independent congregations, holding onto their original beliefs and the spirit of Christian freedom that was present during the early Watchtower period until Brother Russell’s death in October 1916.
With sincere and supportive wishes, we hope this website helps you, our visiting brothers and sisters, find answers to your questions. We aim for this site to be a place of education, healing, emotional well-being, spiritual growth in line with the scriptures, and a space where our collective efforts honor Jehovah, our loving and merciful Heavenly Father.
We hope that reflecting on the not-so-distant past will inspire you with fresh hopes of Jehovah’s kindness and mercy today, as well as the bright future He has promised for all humanity through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
